While filming the 2004 movie 'The Passion Of Christ', the actor who played Jesus, Jim Caviezel, was struck by lightning during the last shot of the movie. 


Caviezel later stated that the lightning strikes necessitated two heart surgeries, including an open-heart procedure, as well as extensive medication.

He was accidentally whipped twice, which has left a 14-inch scar on his back, and dislocated his shoulder from the weight of the 150lb (68kg) cross when it was dropped on him.

  


During the crucifixion and it actually lit his hair on fire. The scenes of him hanging on the cross in the dead of Italian winter (with temperatures of 25°F/-4°C and 30-knot winds) caused him to contract hypothermia and pneumonia. 


He stated that he went into the film weighing 210lbs (95kg) and was 168lbs (76kg) by the time they finished. He required heart surgery after the movie wrapped.
