Shocking footage shows the moment a woman is swallowed up as the floor of a shopping center in the Chinese city of Zhenjiang suddenly collapses.

A construction worker, who was on the floor below at the time of the collapse, and the woman were both trapped but subsequently rescued by emergency crews and transported to a nearby hospital.

At the scene, Mr. Huang, the mall representative, informed reporters that both individuals were injured but in stable condition. 

The construction worker suffered leg injuries from fallen debris, while the shopper sustained fractures.

East German soldier helps a little boy sneak across the Berlin Wall on August 13, 1961.  This photograph captures a poignant moment as the soldier assists a boy left behind in the chaos of people fleeing and families being separated by the newly erected Berlin Wall. The soldier, despite orders to prevent anyone from crossing, bravely helped the boy through the barbed wire. Unfortunately, he was caught by his superior officer, and his fate remains unknown.  The boy ended up on the opposite side of the wall from his parents due to the overnight separation of families caused by the division of sectors. His father, visiting relatives in West Germany, decided that the boy should be with his mother and had him lifted across the fence by the soldier.

In some countries, those sentenced to stoning, or “lapidation” as it is also called, are buried in a hole and covered with soil (men up to their waists; women to a line above their breasts), according to Article 102 of the Islamic Penal Code. A selected group then executes the alleged adulterers using rocks and sticks. Those able to escape the hole during stoning can be freed, according to Islamic law, a feat that is much more difficult for women than for men because so much more of their body is covered during lapidation.
